Saskatoon Landscape and Garden Centre is a family-owned and operated landscape supply and Garden Centre, located at #7 Glazier Road (next to Greenbryre) in Saskatoon. We are seeking energetic, motivated, and reliable individuals to help our team succeed in 2026.

Applicants needs to be self-driven and can work in a fast-paced environment to aid during our busiest time starting as early as April. Interested applicants should have a positive attitude and enjoy being a part of a greater ‘family-run’ team environment.

What You Need to Know

  • Hours/Availability: Candidates must be available for evening and weekend shifts. For those seeking full-time hours (40 hours/week), please note that you will be scheduled a minimum of one weekend shift per week.

  • Nature of Work: These are seasonal positions perfect for those who love staying active during the peak spring / summer months.

  • Black Out Period: No time off will be approved between April 20 and July 10th unless included on application and discussed during interview. If availability changes, you will be asked to reapply.

Garden & Landscape Sales Associates: April Start

Position Overview

Join our team as a Garden & Landscape Sales Associate! This dynamic, seasonal role is perfect for energetic individuals who enjoy a fast-paced retail environment and help people bring their outdoor projects to life. You will serve as a key point of contact for both homeowners and professional contractors, providing expert service across our garden centre and landscape supply divisions.

Positions begin in April and run through mid-July, with potential extensions into October for those who have an interest in our landscape department. We offer flexible casual, part-time, and full-time hours to fit your schedule. Please note that availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required during our peak spring and summer months. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a high-energy, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and contractors with product selection, project planning, and basic installation advice for plants and landscape materials.
  • Accurately process purchases and orders using our digital POS system while maintaining a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, addressing professional inquiries or directing customers to the appropriate department.
  • Keep indoor and outdoor product displays clean, organized, and fully restocked.
  • Complete daily opening/closing duties and general housekeeping to ensure a professional shopping environment.
  • Work effectively with supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently in a high-energy, team-oriented atmosphere.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior customer service or cashier experience is an asset; previous experience with landscape supplies or plant experience is a significant plus (personal yard care counts!).
  • A quick learner with strong basic math skills, high attention to detail, and a comfort level with digital POS systems.
  • A positive, professional “can-do” attitude is a must. You should be motivated to learn our diverse product line and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for long periods and work productively in various outdoor weather conditions.

Plant Experts: April Start

Position Overview

We are looking for energetic, plant-loving individuals to join our team as Seasonal Plant Experts. This role is the heartbeat of our Garden Centre during our peak season, ensuring our inventory stays vibrant and our customers leave inspired. These are seasonal positions starting in April, with end dates ranging from June through September. If you enjoy working outdoors, have a “green thumb,” and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the perfect summer role for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the health and care of our plant inventory through consistent watering, pruning, and deadheading.
  • Restock plant material and maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing display throughout the Garden Centre.
  • Act as a go-to resource for customers by providing expert advice on plant selection, care requirements, and garden design.
  • Proactively monitor plant health and immediately notify management of any pests, disease, or irrigation issues.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior gardening experience or a deep passion for plants and various plant varieties.
  • Strong communication skills and previous experience in a retail or service environment.
  • High attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to solve problems on the fly.
  • Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions and the ability to stay active throughout the shift.
  • A quick learner who is willing to be cross trained in different areas of the business.

Yard Attendant Operator: April Start

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, physically capable Yard Attendants for a full-time (30+ hours per week) role starting in April. This position is ideal for an experienced operator who takes pride in organization and is looking for consistent hours through both the busy landscaping season and the winter months. Some positions are seasonal, year-round work available for the right candidates. We offer shifts seven days a week (days, evenings, and weekends), with opportunities for snow removal during the winter season.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Safely operate wheel loaders to load landscape materials for customers and contractors.
  • Perform basic mechanical checks and minor repairs on yard equipment and shop tools.
  • Assist with heavy lifting, manual yard organization, and ensuring the facility remains clean and professional.
  • Provide reliable snow removal and ice management during the winter season.
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with landscape products and materials.
  • Communicate professionally with customers/contractors and provide basic product information.
  • Ensure outdoor inventory areas are clean, organized, and clearly presented.
  • Safely unload incoming inventory shipments and build brick, stone, or bagged material orders.
  • Communicate with yard lead or supervisor on shift.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating a wheel loader or similar equipment.
  • A basic understanding of mechanics and equipment troubleshooting.

Yard Attendant Labourer: April Start

Job Overview

Join our team as a Yard Labourer, a role perfect for a hardworking individual who enjoys physical work and is an aspiring equipment operator. You will be the backbone of our garden centre’s daily operations, ensuring our yard stays organized and our customers get the products they need. Positions are seasonal from April to September. We offer shifts seven days a week (days, evenings, and weekends), with opportunities to grow into a Yard Attendant and return in subsequent years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately build brick orders and help restock palleted products.
  • Assist in helping customers load brick, bagged and other materials as needed.
  • Assist in offloading plant orders as they arrive and ensuring they are placed correctly.
  • Perform general labour tasks to keep the landscape and tree yards clean, tidy, and safe for customers.
  • Work closely with our Lead Yard Attendant and Yard Attendants to complete daily tasks and maintain high-quality displays.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be physically fit, able to safely lift 75+ lbs, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A dependable team player with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for all shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to follow directions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a positive attitude, with a genuine desire to learn yard equipment operations.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, garden centre, or construction setting is considered a strong asset.

General Property Maintenance: April Start

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable, handy, and proactive individual to help keep our Garden Centre looking its best. This role is the “caretaker” of our facility, ensuring our grounds, buildings, and equipment are well-maintained and professional. We offer full-time or part-time hours during our peak season (mid-April to late June) to keep up with the spring rush, transitioning to consistent part-time hours for the remainder of the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the front boulevard and property by mowing, weeding, pruning flower beds, and keeping the parking lot debris-free.
  • Perform general “refresh” tasks such as painting, staining, and cleaning greenhouse gutters (must be comfortable using a ladder).
  • Handle minor mechanical or structural fixes, such as repairing irrigation lines or troubleshooting greenhouse blower fans and equipment.
  • Address various “handyman” tasks as they arise to ensure a safe and beautiful environment for our customers and staff.
  • Winter hours can consist of upgrades or help with snow removal contracts, or other various tasks.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A broad “fix-it” skillset with experience using basic power tools, lawnmowers, and gardening equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, climbing ladders, and staying active throughout the day.
  • Ability to look at a minor mechanical or irrigation issue and find a practical solution.
  • A self-motivated worker who takes pride in their work and can manage a daily “to-do” list independently.
  • Flexible availability, with a commitment to increased hours during the busy spring season (April–June).
